零售業銷售可以顯示消費者開支和需求的狀況。它被細分為汽車和其他商品的銷售，其中汽車銷售在通常情況下波動較大。不計汽車銷售，該數字由連鎖店、百貨商店和超市的銷售組成。
Core Retail Sales m/m
Derivative of Retail Sales that excludes the Automobile Sales component. Automobile Sales make up roughly 25% of Retail Sales, but they can be very volatile from month to month（汽車銷售的變動率極高。） and can distort the picture. Retail Sales with the exclusion of this volatile component is thought to be a better indicator of the underlying trend in consumer spending.
